It ran a 13.0. It wasn't an RX-8, so less attention needed to be made to fitting it in. The only other one I can think of that I posted pics of is Wildcard's headers, and these do actually fit the RX-8 without modification to any engine mounts etc. Cheers, Hymee. |

because it has twice the exhaust pulses running through it. the other ones only see exhaust from their rotor, while the middle sees it from both rotors. |
All this talk of hp numbers and speculation. All I want to see is how much extra we can put down reliably and just what can that do for us in the 1/4 mile. I'm not interested in drag racing my RX-8, but getting a baseline type 1/4 mile figure or trap speed tells me more than any hp numbers.

what I love to see is a tuner like you hymee try to extrac as much power as posible keeping the engine NA and without briged porting, but doing everything else, header , porting, intake, fuel mods, anything that you can do.

oil cooler
Well without finding my glasses and since you really want someone to find it I'll guess and say the following. A small oil cooler droped into a bucket of water will boil the water and keep the oil temp at 212f. As long as you keep replacing the water that is.
In practical terms you can put it into the well where you dump the dyno water. Or intercool it with water feeding the dyno. |

thanks for all the info, it is great. (I didnt check the vid yet, will download later) I think our guys just want to know on that siamese center header pipe if it is split in the centrer (two smaller pipes into one, or one big one(looking on the inside of the pipe)) and then header lengths. same length or not? (all 3).Not your whole secret just right direction. I know someone here by us played around with the headers a bit and didnt gain too much(actually very little) the big gain was in the rest of the pipe, 3" with no cat and big silencer at back or two small ones, this was the best call. Thanks |

In 1991, the Mazda 787B, 4 rotor peripheral port motor, with that technology(15 years old) made 700HP on the flywheel. OK it was a real works motor, but truly possible, I think now even more. |
So let me just get this straight...
In 2003 the RX8 supposedly had 250 BHP In 2004 the RX8 supposedly had 238 BHP In 2006 the RX8 supposedly had 232 BHP but for realz this entire time it has about 210 stock? WTF mates? How can a car company do that and get away with it? |

Since you have over a thousand posts, i assume you know the reason behind the change from 250 to 238 to 232...
My best guess is Mazda used an engine that put out power within the limits(4%??) of the test, so they can advertise it as 232. ________ Live sex webshows |
3-rotor rx8 would be sick. I think this is where mazda needs to go in the future with RX line if they want to remain competitive.

Doesn't anyone understand a baseline? You've got the car; you know how it drives; so the number doesn't mean much anymore. The only question is how much do the changes you make effect the engine you have. Thanks for doing it right Hymee.

that is the problem, there has been engine's that dyno in the 200+ rwhp range and engines in the 170 rwhp, so there is a really large discrepancy ( hope I spell that right) from engine to engine.

^ The really strange thing about that is that the Formula Mazda cars all run factory built Renesis engines that are no different than the ones in the RX-8. They are extremely consistent there in the power department.

but i wonder if they check all those on the same dyno before they're installed... one guy over here does a run on a dd in 100* weather on 91 octane, while another guy does one on a dynojet in 758 weather... coolant temps, the traction control stuff, etc etc etc etc... i think the engines are more consistant than the dynos lead us to believe. |
