The cel is on constantly now but the car runs fine. I am wondering like tdiddy said if I tune and turn up the boost can I remove the blocking plate? Another thing if I am gonna tune the greddy kit do I need to buy the interceptor x or can the emanage ultimate be tuned to 9 psi?

In addition to what I said in the previous post, the blocking plate also makes tuning easier. Since there is no port opening that causes an influx of air that needs to be delt with.

You can remove it, but you're going to have to do tuning or the car will run lean from that point on. Under boost that will be a serious problem if you run the stock map without changes.

There's no reason why you can't use the Ultimate at higher boost levels. It's just a matter of making sure your map is correctly tuned for that pressure.

I'm pretty sure Mazdamaniac did it.

I'm going to go ahead and install the plate and use greddy's supplied map for awhile, and add any input I may have.

I have the plate in my car, but I didn't do the install myself. Is it just a few 12/10mm bolts and some rubber hoses that need to come off? Looks like there's one bolt in the back that might be a pain to get to.

well just out of curiousity if ur worrying about a carbon buildup issue, couldnt u just hook up a intake system cleaner through the brake booster vacuum line that runs to the intake manifold.........hook it up there n clean out the intake side for any carbon deposits that might have built up.......just as a thought.........

btw, I took off the turbo blocking plate and haven't gotten the CEL since.

I'm pretty sure the blocking plate can cause the CEL to go off - though it is intermittent, and not a constant thing.

Did you have the plate on with the int-x?

I figured the resistors in the EMU harness would have caused the light, since they electrically prevent the ports from opening.

Plate was removed otherwise the int-x would run too rich due to the intakes not opening up as expected. That said, I do see the system too rich CEL as well as cat not functioning CEL, neither of which showed up on the EMU. I spoke with Scott and he said he's working on a fix for the CEL, which is great news. I like to keep an eye on the check engine lights, and so I have to basically reset the system every other drive because they keep popping back on.

Of course. You will have to make sure to tune the system when you do so, or it will go too lean at 5500 rpm..

Don't forget that when you take the plate out you have to cut out the resistors that keep the ports from opening, otherwise you'll be wasting your time.
