That's right where mine sits. I had to put the velute almost straight down then rotate the cold side very close to the engine, but then I went with a smaller cold side velute and had plenty of room up front.
Don't forget about the 1/2" or so that the transmission sticks out past the engine right there. If you have an extra shield that fits there it will help with the fitting. Your turbo looks it sits quite a bit higher than what I'm planning . |
It sits a bit higher than yours in that pic, but I had to clear the frame rail with the hot side inlet. it is very close. That plate was just a reminder. I wouldn't think you'd put that on a complete engine.
I had tucked my hot side as close to the engine as possible and I had to move the mounting flange to make it fit once I installed it in the engine. |
I'll get a pic or 2 of what I mean
|
This looks promising. Just a gut feeling though.
Best of luck! |

Here you can see where I barely managed to squeeze it in front of the transmission.

Here is my wastegate sitting just above the crossmember that ties the frame to the engine cradle.

here is where the turbo meets manifold. It is about 1/4" clearance from the engine cradle. I wanted to pull it further back and lower but I had to move it forward, due to the trans and up to clear the cradle. then I had to turn the hot side away from the engine and tuck in the cold side to theinlet was pointing forward and I did not have to weld on a funky bend like turblown does.

here's the best view of the turbo on manifold without everything in the bay for referance on the distance from engine required.
