:) Arrrrrrrrr!!!
The best way I can describe my experience when in "boost" is a harder VTEC transition. The sound the engine makes at that point is vicious and the pull is hard through to redline! Maybe not what I was ultimately expecting but will definitely make more cars familiar with the rear end of an RX8. ;) http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...althnozzle.jpg + http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p.../bhrspacer.jpg + http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...exblackout.jpg = http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...n/SDC10455.jpg+12-14 sec 1/4 passes?:dunno::Eyecrazy: - |
Zumn, I'll let Charles address your post but I will say that you will probably not be getting 12 or 13 second passes on an automatic.
|
So that was quick.
My bottle is done. Probably because I was spraying every chance I could... and I might've been using the 65-hp jets the last two days.. :eyetwitch shhhh. |
yeah def not in that range i dont think with an auto
MAYBE high 14's with some other mods, hard to say really longer pulls mean your out of power for a longer time, take a look at our HP curves |

Sure.. but not worth it.. I can always refill this one and it's not like I'm going to be going through 1 tank every 3 days like my first one. Now that I know what it feels like I'm going to get it refilled and let it just be there for those "comparison" runs.
Mmmmmhmm! |
just be careful with that 65....not every one got away with it

refilled the bottle ;) |
how much does it cost to refill it?
|
Around $40 bucks .... ish.
|
$4.79/lb where I get it filled.. these guys have a monopoly on it around here!
|
Ow. $4.79... The cheapest they charge is $3.50 a pound down here at a local speedshop. They chill your bottle, so I drop it off at lunch, and pick it up after work. But this guy says he doesn't really make any money off it... just does it to bring in business.
You have a nice setup. You should be having fun with it. We all factored in the price of nitrous before going this route. Pay-as-you-go power! |

I have it pretty lucky... I know the owner of a local shop. I have givin him alot of daily business from the vehicles for the company i work for. He gives me excellent deals on ALOT of things in return... nitrous and dyno time included :-)
|
Bah, does anyone happen to have a 17 fuel jet (for the 55 hp) they can stick in an envelope and send over to me? I seem to have misplaced it. :(

Soo... somthing happened and my intake box went boom!
Not so bad really. The air filter is a bit screwed.. The two screens that straighten airflow were blown out.. My MAF blew out of it's socket.. The two clips on the front of the airbox are gone.. I was at 6k rpm in second.. put my foot down.. 2 seconds later I hear a pop. The car drives fine.. the idle is great for the most part but there is a little stutter.. it wants it's screens back! Comments? ;) |
I am assuming that there was probably some puddleing in the intake which woudld have caused the backfire. . .
|
Comment?.... Don't do that.... problem solved. ;)
|
just guessing - if you were in gear and spraying at 6000 but not WOT you would have more nitrous coming into the intake than going out . Hence the buildup and BOOM effect .
|
haha... yeah. lucky that that is all that happend... IF thats all that happened.
