Brettus also I have a large jet to inject the meth to cool the air down further, also my IC is getting fresh air piped in from the front of the car. We designed a shroud to keep the cooler fresh air from going up and over the IC.

If you like a video of the car hitting 15.5 PSI I can provide it. I also hit 15.5 psi at 3000 rpm.

That's an impressive spoolup ! Must be an animal !

I was being sarcastic when I mentioned it 15.5 psi at 7900 rpm, LoL. In all honestly it spools at 3000 rpm. The car is very responsive, that was my goal from the beginning.
Because it's a side mount turbo setup, the instant spool comes online and my car pulls hard all the way to 9000 rpm. It's a blast to drive because it's so responsive.

So now I'm confused ....... does it make 15.5 at 8000 or not ?

YES ! This is great to hear . More people need to do it this way instead of fitting big top mounts !

Do you have any pics of the exhaust manifold ?

No it's makes 15.5 psi at 3000 rpm. I was joking with you when I said it made 15.5 psi at 7900 rpm. That would be aweful and a laggy setup.
The manifold is custom. I'll try and find one for you. He did a alpha and a beta manifold, the alpha was just for testing and fitting purposes.

.

Think we are not understanding each-other ............ Was asking if it HOLDS 15.5 all the way to 8000 .

With out going back i remember you saying you had 177-450 hp. I was going toward don't believe that if your tuner or dyno guy try's saying its true.

Brettus , it holds all the way to 8000 rpm.

Logalnipoo- the dyno was way off. It had me maxing 4th gear at 100 mph. I believe the Supra that got tuned before me, it screwed up the dyno. The techs, couldn't get it recalibrated. Any numbers I put down was false. Will try again in a few weeks.

Here is the test manifold, testing and fitting with nasty welds.

This is how the turbo sits on the side.

Can't say I've ever seen one located so far forward and high before .Is engine mount in same place ?
Won't work on mine unfortunately ......... steering column would go straight through turbo .

TeamRX8 06-23-2015 03:27 PM

part of the mount solution was can be seen in the last picture above

The engine mount had to be custom made. It uses the same location as where the the old mount would go on the frame. It's just designed in a way that gives the turbo room to be side mounted and still allow the brace to be mounted to the motor.

My entire setup is custom. From cable throttle body to return style fuel system.

Does the turbine entry sit directly out from the centre plate? Do you have any pics of the waste gate location/piping?

The brace almost cradles the turbo but it doesn't touch it. The brace does not sit in front of the turbo at all. I need to take better pics to show this so you can see what I am talking about.

Here is the pic of my WG. 43mm WG, my builder had to make a bridge where he cut out the cross member support. I believe I have the finish product of this as well. The bridge support sits at the same level as the oil pan does to avoid snags or any other mishaps.

9krpmrx8 06-25-2015 10:20 AM

Is that discharging to air? That would get destroyed on my car.

logalinipoo 06-26-2015 12:05 AM

Wow that is low. I made sure everything sat above that bar.

9k of course it would. You scrape with a 90LB 12yo in the passenger seat

FazdaRX_8 07-07-2015 05:39 PM

could you provide more details on your meth/water injection, what size nozzle, have you done runs with it off?

TeamRX8 07-08-2015 04:05 PM

lots of info on RX7Club

never agreed with MM on the subject
