3-rotor renesis pics!!!!!!!
Here it is!!!!
http://ausrotary.com/download/file.php?id=803 http://ausrotary.com/download/file.php?id=804 http://ausrotary.com/download/file.php?id=805 Engine is running in a drift FD in the UK... thought a 3rotor with side exhaust ports wasn't possible! The vechicle that's it all in. http://www.ausrotary.com/download/file.php?id=806 Built by----> http://www.mazdarotary.co.uk/ |
say what?!? looks nice, what are some of the output numbers and more information please
|
It was just a matter of time before someone made a 20b Renesis. Is it running?
|
I like it. Any idea on power or if its ported?
|
This is what i'm waiting for......
|
Cool looking. It's based on the lower power 4 port engine. I'm not so concerned over whether it actually runs as I am with how much power each rotor makes in relation to each other. I just can't believe that the middle rotor breathes as well as the others due to both of it's exhaust ports being siamesed. You really do need to see those up close to fully appreciate how terrible flow through them is.

ITBs on a 3-rotor Renesis... yummy. :yumyum:

Numbers!

Too bad it's not based off of the 6 port renesis like RR said. I would've been nice to have a total of 9 ports...

If it's a 20b rene, why does it have 4 exhaust tubes? Isn't it a 2.6 that is two rene's put together??? Even though it just has 3 intake tubes???
edit: NM, I just looked closely again and saw the rotor housings.... <---nub |

edit: NM, I just looked closely again and saw the rotor housings.... <---nub It's a 20B, not a 26B. The Renesis has exhaust ports on each of the side/end plates. 3 rotors = 4 plates, 4 plates = 4 EX tubes, or primaries. You can clearly see the exhaust is not on the periphery, as pre-rennie. A 13B rennie has 3 exhaust "tubes". Cheers, Hymee. |
I wonder if they figured out the MOP for that setup...
|
Why isn't it boosted? :lol2:
Looks nice though, but like RG says, the mid rotor might have difficulties breathing, those shared ports are really tight. |
nice to see it done. I predict it could make about 350hp. I don't think the middle rotor of this setup could handle a 6-port version, the exhaust side would be really restricted.

A quote from the creator!
'Since I have actually built the engine and tuned it i can say that it is very good and I have not driven an N/A engine like it. This is what the RX8 should have in it. It has lots of low down torque ,but still wants more and more revs. Zero overlap of the inlet and exhaust ports helps with exhaust evacuation. The car has not been on a dyno yet,but I can say that it pulls harder than a modified FD RX7 that is still on stock twin turbo's running around 330hp. Regards' Carl __________________ Hayward Rotary www.mazdarotary.co.uk |
crispeed,
If you have not already done so, please invite the builder to stop by to discuss his build :) |

I want a video of this, I want to know how it sounds :) |
