XPresskit remote start bypass with only 1 key?

I'm installing a remote start system which requires the Xpresskit bypass to work, but the compatibility chart says it needs 2 keys to program, I'm guessing because the car "thinks" it's another key, in which you need 2 working keys to program a new one (see https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...0&d=1099510662). However, I only have one key. That tech sheet says if the customer only has 1 key and needs to program a new one, a "WDS" is required. Can I just get the dealer to use this WDS to program the xpresskit directly then? Is it common for a car audio / security install shop to have a WDS?

You need Mazda secured internet access to program a key if you only have one valid key. Either the dealer or someone who pays Mazda to have access to the key programming and the correct scan tool/software to do the programming.

If your going to have the dealer do the programming of the xpress kit, you might as well have them program an additional key at the same time. The cost of labor is the same. You would just have to buy an additional key.

However from my experience, just have the dealership program a key (or even buy two). Then program the xpress kit yourself or by your installer. Sometimes the dealership techs don't have too much experience with aftermarket installs and products.

Figured that, thanks. Have a new key in the mail, just hope the stealership doesn't rip me off to program it now.
