I looked into that before...the specs are different I believe...but why don't you give it a try anyway...you can always return the scart cable

Be careful selling modded X-boxes Matt... Microsoft could have a big issue with it. The chip companies are already walking a fine line with the sales of the chips as it is. There is a reason why people cant legally download a working version of X-box media center... Microsoft is really playing big brother on this one.... Anyways... good luck.. but be careful how you lable your new "product" =P

Hey man the only way you can kinda sorta "legally" sell these consoles modded is to sell them bone dry. Meaning no bios or OS can be present. This is basically all that you can get from anyone who sells them pre-modded. Oh and by the way if you need a download of the X-player media center let me know, I think I still have my copy. If you have any legal ?s just ask me. I've looked into and researched this topic a good bit. There are many "loop holes" in Microsofts case arguement.

Thanks for all the great info! After seeing flyboyindy's setup I rushed out to buy an XBOX. I am now going nuts trying to figure out what mod chip to buy and where to get all that I need to make it run XBMC. Anyhow, what I'd like to ask the forum readers that have installed an XBOX in their 8s is:

1) Any issues with crash harddrives if you get a pot hole while it is in use?
2) Where did you install it? Flat in the well? If so is it covered? what about ventilation? I'd rather have it attached to the back seat but it is quite heavy and I think it would not work too well for the DVDs.... can anyone post some pics of their install? I mean pics of the boot/trunk whatever it is called...

thanks!
Alex

I have Video noise, but it's the converter. They are working to give me a better version.
Next week for update. I have a little noise audio, but it's my FM Modulator.
I have not a job. I'm an University Student. I finished my car job about 2 weeks ago:

I should buy also Pie Aux-in because I connect my switch with FM Modulator now!
I don't understand like an audio filter Can adjust video source.
My converter is installed after my A/V Switch!

yes you can run the Vidoe or audio thur it. the lines you see are from your Alternator. the filter will make the video lines or noise go away . Yes the PIE box allows you to plug your audio rca into the Radio and switch it on with the CD button.

actually thew I believe flyboy just hooked up the audio, one set going into the box for each input and one set going out of the box, no video and it fixed the audio AND the video problems, flyboyindy you want to chime in on this one?

thommino definitely get the pie box...the ground loop isolator should fix the ground loop caused by different grounding points on the audio

my guess is you have the inverter grounded at a different point then the video in card you have and the Nav for the dvd

Excume me, I don't speak English very well. Could you better explain this sentence? "my guess is you have the inverter grounded at a different point then the video in card you have and the Nav for the dvd"?

So I would have to buy:
1)P.I.E. MAZ/PC-alp Price - 75.99 USD
2)RCA inputs For MAZ/PC-ALP Price - 14.50 USD
With 1 and 2 I could connect directly connect my Diversiti Switch to Mazda Central Audio Unit (I have 9.55vers)
3)20 amp inline power lead noise filter Price - 11.00 USD
4)Ground Loop Isolator Price - 4.50 USD
With 3 and 4 I encrease Audio quality and for you also Video Quality.
Right?

Total Price:75.99 + 14.5+ 11 + 4.5 = 76+30= 106$ plus shipment to Italy (How much?) About 83Euro + Shipment

This is my problems:
Video 1 (Power-on Xbox): http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...one%20Xbox.MPG
A little Video noise, on black colour

Video 2 (Menu Xbox): http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...enu%20Xbox.MPG
I cannot read nothing. Resolution is very badly

Video 3 (Game 1 Xbox): http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...n/Game%201.MPG
Converter Lightness Problem. I hope www.converters.tv solves this problem.

Video 4 (Game 2 Xbox): http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...n/Game%202.MPG
Converter Lightness Problem. I hope www.converters.tv solves this problem.

Video 5 (Film Divx on Xbox):http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...ilm%20Divx.MPG

Video 6 (Film DVD on Xbox): http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...Film%20DVD.MPG

Video 7 (Film DVD 2 su Xbox):http://www.thommino.com/Video/Rx-8/B...%20DVD%202.MPG

I'll explain the sentence "my guess is you have the inverter grounded at a different point then the video in card you have and the Nav for the dvd" in italian....

BTW - I could not view all the links he posted until I pressed QUOTE... now they show up in his post... weird...
