Voodoo Shift **** Alternative

so i was looking for a new shift **** and was considering the Voodoo ones you guys all have. But i really wanted something with the shift patern on it. stumbled onto this one on ebay, anodized aluminum, gunmetal in color with our shifter pattern on it in red (goes with our interior) came in today

what do you guys think? it feels pefectly wieghted, and it was < $25 (seller: autodinamics)

hopefully this helps someone!

well u want something that is wieghted so that u have some moment of inertia on the shifter making throws easier and quicker. but obviously something extremely heavy is dumb

i think its in the middle, imo

You can get a VooDoo **** with shift-pattern from knobmeister.com.

Either a pre-engraved pattern or you can supply your own patterns (and images)

I'm getting a titanium voodoo **** with the engraving from ricks2k.com. Titanium is heavier than the aluminum version, so will be great for short shifter.

^ Yeah it is but it addresses the weight issue (close to OEM) and apparently doesn't get as cold or hot as the aluminum. I will let you know whether that is true as I have a voodoo **** now (black).

How do you like it? Have you tried the aluminum version? What material and color is your shift boot?

it works fine for me, it's much better than my old razo, and it's weighted pretty nicely. my boot's silver carbon fiber from shiftstyle.com. highly recommend them

Good to hear as I was planning to a buy a boot from them. The **** itself looks like a medium silver color, is that correct? Just trying to determine if the boot in the pic would go well with it...

^ look good and like the fact that avoid heat/cold issue but are too light at 115 grams (vs Titanium a 284 grams)

Great choice on the calvin and hobbes! That is awesome! Finally, a picture of calvin doing something on a car that isn't peeing or praying.

why not get the voodoo **** from knobmeisters. You can order the engraving on there and have them ship it to you PLAIN so you can properly index it, send it back, and they'll engrave it for ya.

I'm unhappy with the crappyness of the stock shift **** - the silver coating is peeling off the 12 o'clock position after only one year of owning the car (bought new last June). I'm gonna make the dealer replace it under warranty.

Despite that, I like the general shape of it as opposed to the ball-type you guys are talking about, and wouldn't mind replacing the stock one with one that is at least partially leather-wrapped. Any suggestions? I'm too tired right now to online search. Thanks.
