USB Mp3 solution with text display?

Hi,

This question has nothing to do with Ipod integration, as I don't own an Ipod.

Anyway, I am in the market for an mp3 adapter type thing to install on my Rx8. I have found several, including audiolink and xcarlink. However, it seems that neither of them display the artist/track name in the display. Does anyone know of any type of USB Mp3 adapter that supports this?

PS: Yes I have used the search function, unfortunately, I find that the search function often produces no results. I'm not sure why this is. I search something simple like "mp3", and it gives me no results. Does anyone else experience this?

Thanks for your time!

In my hunt for an iPod adapter I found that the Axxess box was the only one to provide a text display. However, I don't believe they have cables for any mp3 players beside the iPod.

One way to see what song is playing is to spend lots of bucks. If you already have GPS nav system in your RX8, you could get that device that converts your display into a monitor. It has a VGA input, so you could hook up a PC and use whatever PC based software you want to play your MP3's. Winamp works wonders! The box will run you about $500, plus whatver you spend on a PC.

I'm not sure if you've thought this out from a technical perspective.

The audio player has to actually transmit song information to the device you're wanting it displayed on. Using an Aux out you're not going to get song info- does your specific device support a USB uplink for that purpose? Otherwise the playback unit would be doing all the MP3 decoding and just using the MP3 player as a hard drive to pull songs(with their information) from it. The latter option would basically be a car-PC or specific MP3 playing Headunit that supported remote storage.

yeah, but to get the sync on the rx8 you'll have to put a new stereo in it. i dont think it will work with just an adapter.
