I dunno if anyone else has tried this product but i was just randomly searching the word rx8 on ebay and i came accross this. It is a lil interface for ur car that works by connecting to your cd changer plug in the back of ur cd player. it allows u to plug in a usb memory stick and also has a audio jack so u can plug any time of mp3 player in it.

the thing thats pretty tight about it is that everything shows up on the middle screen and it just thinks ur playing music through the cd changer. it also lets you use ur audi buttons on the steering wheel. i think its great for anyone that wants to get ride of burning cds or gets tired of listenin to the same 16 tracks over and over.

ive been using it for almost a year now and it works badass!!

nice find, I had no idea about these things....I have a microsoft zune and wondered how I could use it in my 8.

My car also came with the phatnoise system and it's a hassle to unload the cartridge and upload new songs...I never liked it.

I will try this thing for sure.

Gameguy: yeah i think its the same as that.. i found a few different models around the internet.. no one knew what i was talking about so i just bought the cheapest one and it has worked great.. i paid about 70 bucks with shipping on ebay for mines..

05rex8.. yeah u gotta look at what model cd player ur car has in order for it to work.. i think what u do is press and hold down the power button on ur cd player and eventually it will tell u what exact model number u have.. the one i used (i couldnt find it again) had a list of cd players that would work with it

 

So what exactly is in your car that this is plugged into? IE do you have the Bose with the 6 stacker?

 

It's the same thing as the AudioLink. It simply plugs into the back of the HU into where the 6CD changer would normally go.

 

post your results when you install it. I'm also a zune user and would like to know if this works.

 

SARRAS u dnt need a cd changer it just plugs into the back of ur stock deck where your cd changer would connect to. i have the bose system but i think mazda still used the same cd player for the cars..

 

SPHINX im using it right now and it works great ive been using it for a year.. my friends usually plug their ipods into and i never had any problems i dont their would be any with the zune either.

 

do you have control over the ipod too?

and what do you do with the module? just leave it there? or are there screw to hold it down?

 

i just leave the modual laying in the glove box nothing really happens to it because its reading from mp3 format so even if it shakes around its not like itll skip or anyhting.. u dnt have control over the ipod or zune because its jus simply pluggin the 3.5mm jack into the moduals jack.
