thoughts on replica bride seats

Ive been debating racing seat for awhile now. I know i want something that can recline. I have run across some replica bride seats and a few others that are so close down to the same stickers bolt up and everything. I know i would not due a replica body kit dut to the extra cost to get it to work.

Just wondered if anyone has these, seen these, or sat in these. Im looking at the bride cuga right now and would do a carbon fiber back on the replica. I do not race the car this is mainly for show. I can make my own brakets if needed and plan on making a harness bar if i go this route for harnesses.

feel free to pm if you dont want anyone to know that they are reps. I understand

Stay away from replica seats.
Ask yourself what happens if you are involved in a crash and the seat breaks... not supporting or stopping your body.

Agreed. There are certain things that you can skimp on and get some replicas, but any safety feature I would highly recommend against. I saw a very good comparison photo on the nopistons.com site a while back on replica seats and authentic and there were surely a lot of areas that the replica seemed to be weak on, including the reclining bracket that was prone to snapping on impact.

I agree with all the above statements.... safety should be a huge concern with this. My brother was driving a brand new Ford Fiesta and was killed in a full-speed head on collision 2 weeks ago because the seat bracket broke, and that was on the stock seats.

So beware for safety.
