Those with VooDoo ***** - Spacing

To those of you running Voodoo shift *****; do you find that the **** sits too close to the shift boot? Have any of you come up with any unique and clean solutions to raise it up slightly?

Possible Solutions: Raise **** OR lower shift boot.

1. Remove insulation from under the shift boot. Should allow the shift boot to go a little lower over the shifter.
or...
2. Remove stock shift boot and trim it. Removing material will reduce the amount that it pushes up into the ****.
or...
3. Buy a cheap ebay shift boot for 4 bucks and trim it (so you don't mess up the stock one).
or...
4. Not quite sure how to go about this, but I'm sure their is a way to put a spacer nut or something on before the voodoo which would allow the **** to sit higher and still be tight.

I'm sure someone else will have better ideas. Mine tend to be lazy solutions and not very well thought out.
Even though I went with the ebay boot and it does pretty well.

I took car of my low Voodoo **** situation. I went to Home Depot and found some hard rubber washers in the plumbing section of the store. One small diameter to go over the shifter shaft and a slightly bigger one to go over the first washer and mate nicely with my Voodoo ****. Not it sits 1/4" higher and I don't rub my fingernails on the leather shift boot.

Does anyone know what the warranty is on these *****. I'm starting to see spider cracks in mine. It looks like scratches but I don't wear jewelry or anything so it cant be that.
