Thinking of replace the key set

If you guys have been to the RX7club, you may known me. Just got a 8 add to my stables of Rotary. Long story short, the previous owner only give me one key with zero info of the car. Didn't even know what trim the car was. I think it's a GT. The car runs fine and it's VERY VERY inexpensive. So here ends the basic intro.

I did a full key set swap for my FD and I am thinking about doing the same for the SE. The FD is very straight forward. But not sure about the SE, is there any thing I should aware of and be concern? Also which key set i should get? There are so many different sets with the same part number 09-010.

Thanks in advance

The badging on teh door sill will give you teh year, Google your VIN and you can get the trim level and other features from teh factory... You are better off buying an ebay key (the switchblade type for those models that did not have the advanced keyless keycard. The dealer will need to code teh key for the engine immobilizer (if so equipped); but you can program the remote door controls yourself .

Quick question: Can the newer switchblade smart keys work keylessly in place of the credit card style advanced key? Is it even possible to program one of those to work?
