is there a replacement cd player for rx-8?

i mean i really like the look of the stock player but it gives me too many problems playing cd's. it dont matter if its a real cd or burnt cd it jus plays them when it wants.. so im lookin into replacing it but by looking at the cd player and the way mazda put it all together looks impossible to just go by one from best buy..

so what are your guys suggestions if you dont mind taking time out to help me. thanks

There is a kit for it...can't remember what it was called and I am sure you will get flamed with the name later. It costs an ungodly high amount of money for what it is. I believe for half the price you can get an iPod adapter and iPod and forget about it altogether.

The only one that i know of is from Corksport, and it's something 400$. My cd player acts up all the time also, but like Devilboi said I'm just going to go with the ipod adapter.

well actually you can replace the stock CD player with a MP3 cd player or a 6 disk changer, and keep the stock radio face and functions.. all you would replace is some of the insides, that only takes about 30 min if you've never had your car apart before

or you can go with the corksport kit - its a 2 din replacement of the whole stock stereo and comes with a controller so you can keep your AC controls (which are part of the stock HU for some stupid reason) - thats why it's so expensive. but i have it in my car and i LOVE IT!

but for you i'd say your best bet is to get an OEM mp3 cd player - search around you can get a used one for 100 - 150 and new ones for about 300 i think

There are a couple threads on the iPod adapter. Couple different models based on what you want.
