Subwoofer Box

like mounted in the well so it's flush with the floor?
I doubt it. because for several reasons, it's a bad idea. If your considering something like that you're going to be alot better off with a 4080 box trust me.
If your talking about a box that is seated in the well and extends up.. unless you have a HUGE woofer and needs the whole trunk.
Although there are some people that have their amp and capacitor in that well with plexi or something to make it flush. There isn't alot of problems with that other than heat. but thats pretty easy to deal with.
maybe we need a little more information on what your vision is for your setup

My vision was to use little space as possible. It looked like a good spot to use wasted space and still have trunk.
I looked at the 4080 box and it looks heavy!!
I'm running a Bazooka right now b/c it was light and it sounds like poop! So my options are open.

What bazooka are you running?
Most people have really good results with the Infinity Basslink I and II Link to Basslink on crutchfield
For what your wanting that is probably going to be the best thing for you.
If you want a really good sound your going to have a hard time doing better than a 4080 box without giving up half your trunk.
The trunk well isn't deep enough to mount anything except maybe one of the low profile Pioneers. but then you still have an airspace issue.
If it were me and i was worried about trunk space, I would go with the Basslink II it has plenty of good reviews on here (do a search).

I'm running the 10" amplified 200 watt model. I heard it in a truck and it sounded great but boy was I wrong for the RX8. I had the Basslink in my IS300 and I was not to impressed with it. I'm dropping car off tomorrow so I guess I have to make up my mind.

I'm just going off from some of the pics I've seen. The 4080 is made very well and looks very rigid in design which is good for sound reproduction but looks very heavy. I may get shop to build a ported 10" with 1/2" so it will stay light. I want good sound and something light I can take out easily. That's why I tried Bazooka but that failed.
Does anyone know how much 4080 box weighs?

If you are interested in sound quality, just use a quality box that is easily removed for track day. I purchased a box from ZEnclosures that & I can remove in less than a minute & install in less than 2. See here.
Mike offers different options & can probably accomodate your needs.
