Subs in the pass through compartment

Hey everyone,
I did some searching on this forum and I was curious as to if anyone else has tried this set up? Anyone else have this set up with out the speakers obvious to peeping eyes? (i.e. grills)

Thanks,
Ed

maybe...nice thing is the panel locks...but that wont stop much

probaly better to drop them back a bit and have a removable screen...then it can be pulled off for showing

I've got the same exact setup in my 8. Took it down to a local car shop and had it done for only $150 for the enclosure. It sounds great and thumps just enough for inside the cabin. I'll post pics when I get a chance. The subs i'm using are the JL 6w0 x2.

I'm looking for a completely stock looking set up. I like the set up I have post pics of, but I would like to have the speakers covered. Looking for ideas on how to do that and what what material to cover the speakers with. OR have the speakers exposed but use the supplied speaker grills to "hide" them a bit from wondering eyes.

I'm guessing you wish you had the slim PS2 now...mount it under the seat (won't be stolen) and then get a new passthrough panel from one of our vendors and install the subs, sweet

Wow, that is very neat and unique. I'm still trying to decide where to mount my x-box. Anyone have any ideas? Rather than the trunk.

yeah unfortunately I cut out the panel before I heard about the slimmer PS2. I should'nt have a problem with someone breaking in because my windows are so dark that its nearly impossible to see at night and you would really have to look for it to see it in the day.

mod your xbox and then who cares if it is in the trunk...you won't need to put your discs into it anyway

I'm going to say something most of you will probably find sacrilegious. Uhhh...how do I put this...why do you want a PS2 or Xbox or anything of that ilk in your car??? Seriously, do you often go sit in your car and play video games? Somebody clue me in because I don't get it. Audio equipment I understand. Video...that's pushing it, unless you're piping it back to the kiddies. I suppose the games could be for the same reason, but somehow I don't get that impression...

RX8 pimpin> Thanks for the pics. I think I'm really leaning that way but i think I'm going to have to cover those babies up. Want a bit more stock look. Don't get me wrong, your set up looks very clean and nice. Nice Job... You said $150? My just do it my self. Can't be to hard to cut to holes. :-)

ahh so much to learn

you can mod an xbox and have one helluvah cheap computer...you mount it in the car and load your entire music collection onto the huge Hard Drive you installed while modding

now you can have up to 400gigs of music with you at all times and it costs much much less then a Phatbox/Ipod/PC/ anything really and more storage...

PLUS it plays videos (movies you can load in, music videos) and if you want games (personally I don't use it for games but if you have two kids who just ate a whole bunch of sugar and won't calm down in the car load up the spongebob squarpants game and your set for hours and hours)

there is so much potential in this...I'll show you went my install is done (hopefully by new years

True,

I think he is referring to the PS2 install. To be honest I don't get it either for playing video games. Bored at a red light so you try and get a couple laps of Gran Turismo in?

It's a "show thing" not a "go thing" so I don't get it either.

-Mr. Wigggles

Ps. Yes, the XBOX as a music jukebox makes sense.

Well, I was actually referring to both, since I was unaware of the more interesting aspects of a modded Xbox. Truemagellan, I have to say what you're doing sounds extremely cool...I wasn't aware of the possibilities there! I tend to hate all that "Only for car shows" stuff, but what you're doing I like a lot.
