Subs cutting in and out

Hey, i just installed a 4 channel rockford 400 anmp and 2 10 inch subs. I hooked it up to the factory bosy system through the rear speakers everything looks good and sounds good. However if i have the music turned all the way up with a lot of bass its sounds nice except once in a while through out a song the subs will just cut out for a few seconds then come right back. If the music is at a low level or even in the middle this doesnt happen. I dont think its that the amp cant handle the power cause the amp and subs were in my last car and i had no problems. Any suggestions how i can keep them from cutting in and out would be great. Thanks.

A few things to check.

Is the audiopilot turned on or off? Try it with it off before you go any farther. If you use line converters, this may be the issue.

What remote turn on did you use? make sure that it has the current to keep up the amp.

Check for grounding problems in the speaker wires, and voice coils that may be toasted or toasting.

Then take two subs and call me in the morning.

I have the Audiopilot turned off. The remote turn on i used is the accessory plug in the center console. I am not using line converters, and everything seems grounded fine hmm think thats about it.

sounds like you are clipping...this is what the line level adjustments are for usually included on RCA CONVERTORS...the signal you are sending to the amp is becoming more distorted and isn't 'conditioned' for the amp therefore causeing it to clip at certain parts in songs...an easy test to do is have someone increase your volume while looking at the amp..when it starts to clip you should see a FAULT light come on..Rockfords usually is RED...

Another thing to look at is your RCA cables. I had a problem in the past where 1 of my 2 woofers would cut in and out. I thought it was the woofer and upgraded only to wiggle the RCA cable on accident and hear it cut in and out again.

Just another thing to consider.
