I used all JL audio wiring in my first setup. When I got the custom trunk done, some of the JL wiring got replaced with Stinger. I can't tell a difference. A capacitor is a device that is connected between your battery and your amplifiers. It stores electrical energy. When your amps are required to draw a large amount of energy all at once (such as when a certain note makes your subs hit HARD), then hopefully that energy will come from the capacitor, and not put a drain on your car's electrical system (this drain would manifest itself in the form of lights dimming, etc.). Of course, if you don't have a capacitor with a high enough capacity, then it won't do as much good. A rule of thumb that I have heard is to use 1 Farad of capacitance per 1000 Watts in your system. Me, I have an 800 watt system, and a 40 Farad capacitor. Overkill? Sure. But, why not? :D
