Hey everyone, I recently found two JL w6 subs in a sealed box, perfect working condition for a hundred bucks in my local paper. Needless to say, I snatched those up. One question I had was if it's possible to replace the diaphragm of subs (or if any of you have done so). The foam around the edges is a little rough, and there is a very small tear on the inner foam circle of one of them. They're amazing subs (they'll be even more amazing when I buy an amp to drive them), and I would think there's some way to take care of this little problem. Thanks to anyone who knows about this!

 

jl audio will repair the subs at 1/2 retail plus shipping.

 

OUCH. Do you know if there's any place I can buy bezels to go over the tattered edges just to make it look nicer? I can't find them anywhere online.

 

Most "pro" guitar/ instrument shops have a repair dept. that can put a cone kit in for you, I have a brother who does it for a living.

That sounds pretty good. Any idea what it should cost? I'll probably go that route at some point, but don't want to get ripped off.
