SonyEricsson Bluetooth Handsfree (pics)

I have installed the HCB-30 from SonyEricsson. I can leave my phone in the pocket, no disgracious holder, and I can answer from both private and business phones...

Clean install. Nice job! What sort of wiring did you have to do to install this unit? Did you tap the factory audio somewhere or is it a simple plug and play opertation?

The kit was delivered with an ISO adapter, so it's plug&play with standart brands like alpine, pioneer... but not with the Bose system.

Here's a detail of wiring work

Hey Gaz -

Awesome job -- I tried to do something similar with a parrot -- also comes with an ISO adapter, but couldn't figure out how to mate up the wires properly... you don't happen to have a list of which wire goes where, do you?

They had outs for mute, front left right +- and rear left right + -, so, 9 wires total...

I couldn't make heads or tails of the diagrams posted previously, and wasn't sure that splicing into the head unit block would actually work.

Thanks for any information!
Matt

Sorry for the ignorance, but what are those controls above the seat heater controls and below the shifter? I don't have them in my '8.

I like the set up...

so there is a mic at the pillar and where does the audio come from? And you control the phone with the button on the side...

Does it work well with voice dialling... I set up all nicely in my handsfree and I can't imagine I would like to change... then again I love gadgets.

Some people ask for more details:

ZoominRex : Did you install it ?

I doesn't have a lot of infos.

- Be carefull to make a "good " Ground & +12V

I buy the HCE-16 adapter, I cut the 2 ISO connectors & insert between the speaker OUT of audio unit and the amps.

I'm still waiting on getting mine. Should be hear today. So you modified the HCE-16 wiring to get it to work? Do you have a detailed pic of what you did to get it to work with the Bose system? I'm thinking about getting the Qubit unit I saw in another post but I've emailed them numerous times throughout the week with no response. If i can get the HCE-16 to work then I might just go with that instead. Great pics!

How is the sound quality with the speaker that is provided in the car kit? Do you think that that is adequate enough or that it definitely needs to be routed to the speakers.

I first installed my car kit without the CH-16. I can cut the connectors and splice it in with no problem but I don't know where to connect the yellow mute lead . Someone give me a hint.
