Song Time Display: feet and inches?
I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed before ( probably has, but I didn't find it in a quick search)...
I find it really funny how the time for a song on a CD is displayed as "feet" and "inches" e.g. 2' 35" I've never seen this type of readout before, but it is pretty amusing! :) |
That's also common nomenclature for minutes and seconds. Its all about the context!

ahhh.. interesting. I didn't know that. I've never seen that on an audio display before
|
Well, there is a band out there that is called "3 inches of blood", so it is not that uncommon to have such nomenclature in music :)
And yes, as bureau13 pointed out, this is a very common way of indicating time - maybe not in the US but otherwise all over the world. :D To be honest, not being from the US, it never occurred to me to think of the time display referring to feet and inches. |
Typical American..it's all about me :D
Now let's not even get on our (USA) laziness to adopt the metric system across the board ;) |
yeah, you'll usually find that form of minutes and seconds used in describing lat/long, eg:
032 04' 38" N 32 degrees, 4 minutes, 38 seconds |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:25 PM. |
