Hi everyone,

I finally got a basslink to intall into my 8. I have already run the Power/Ground thru the car and I have a couple questions for people who have done this.

1. Where did you tap into for the Remote Turn On? I read on the forum of someone able to tap into the harness at the Bose amp and said to refer to the wire diagram that is posted on the forums, but I have searched and can not find it.


2. Where did you place it in the trunk? I have seen pictures of it in the corner, which is where I would like to put it, but I'm hoping someone can tell me how they secured it.

3. When tapping into the spearkers, did you not use a LOC, and just go from the speaker lines to the high-level inputs on the basslink and let it do the conversion?

1. You can tap into the preamp input into the amp that powers the rear speakers (this amp actually powers ALL the speakers, but it's located in the trunk under the rear speakers).



The wire you want is the pink and black wire on the top edge of the BLACK connector. You can scotchlock it or use a wire tap connector, but this is what I did: just peel back the plastic from the wire, spread the wires apart so there's a hole in the middle (don't cut them), stick your remote turn on wire in between the wires you pulled apart, wrap it around the wires, then tape it up.

3. I used the same preamp input to get the line-in input to my amp (this was a regular amp, not a basslink, but hopefully basslinks don't just have speaker-level inputs).

That pic should explain what you need to do. I did the same signal-stealing procedure as described above. But I cut the ends off an RCA cable to do this. The side with the red plastic is RIGHT. The wires around the interior plastic are GROUND. The wire in the middle is the SIGNAL wire.
