Snowboard/skis stored inside
Alright, I've searched as much as I can to find info on this and tracked only one particular thread where someone mentioned they were able to store their skis and snowboard inside the trunk with the rear passenger middle backing removed. And no I do not want a rack to be installed on my car, I rather castrate myself than do that to such a b-e-Ootiful car
Snowboarding is probably one of my main passions and I go every single weekend I can weather permitting from Nov to April so I rely on my vehicle to transport my stuff. I looked at this opening area at the dealer which looks like it would just barely squeeze a snowboard width wise (height wise for the opening) in there and probably would not fit a wide version of any board.
Thoughts from people who have done this? Were you able to make it work? If so can you give me any dimensions on the widest part of the board you used? In general can anyone measure the dimensions of the opening height/width so I know what I'm working with? Thanks.

I've been able to fit 2 pairs of skis in the trunk and through the opening. Unfortunately, I don't think the opening is big enough to fit a snowboard, especially with its bindings. I may be wrong as I've only had 1 experience tring to fit a board. My winter beater died a couple of months ago and next season will be me first time taking the 8 in the mountain. Make sure you get winter tires if you do decide on one. They are an absolute necessity in the snow.
I actually think a rack on the roof would look nice on this car. It doesn't look half bad on Lambos.

I fit three snowboards in there, with the bindings off of course. You just have to b careful not to scratch all the plastic. Just wrap a towel where it comes in contact with the plastic. You can fit one snowboard with bindings.

Yup, know all about winter driving. Grew up in CNY putting up with what used to be snow for 6 months before it dampened down last decade or so and know well about snow tires and so forth. Owned a truck in the past, always 2wd and just popped some sandbags in the back and worked like a charm, no issue on the roads regardless of how much snow was down.
As for a roof rack, sorry just no way I'm looking into doing that. Yet can either of you get some measurements to tell me the height/width of the opening I have to work with on the cars?

From what I saw in the trunk opening it almost looks like I'd have to put the board in through the inside and through the truck contrast to through the trunk into the inside. The opening looks too narrow in a height perspective to place a board in even if rotated 45 degrees. Any comments on this?

To the OP, here's my tip.
If you are taking the car with only two people you can fit your snowboards in the back seats. Slide a tip under the front seat and rest the other tip on the rear seat headrest. Use the seat belt to buckle the board down. In my experience, nothing gets too wet (as long as you brush off most of the snow and ice), leaves no scratches, is secure during spirited driving, and lets me run my subwoofer in the trunk! I ride a 155 cm board and am 5'8", my driver seat position is not compromised with the board in the back seat.
I have a roof rack, but for snowboards and skiis this is my preferred method. I use my rack for my mountain bikes.
