When I bought my car the Nav system had already been setup with 8 destinations,, Is there a way to delete these ..?

yes. In the navi setup, you can go to edit routes, find the route, then select delete.

Also in that area, you can edit the route names, icons, etc. I name everything myself rather than calling it by street address.
