Replacing bose speakers

Well, I finally got my 2004 RX-8 and I'm loving it except I am a really big car audio freak and I need new speakers. I would install and do everything myself, however, this car is too nice for me to work on and I am scared I would damage it so I think I'm going to take it to a local car audio store even though I absolutly hate going to them because they don't know anything about car audio and try to rip you off. I'm basically going to take my system from my Blazer and switch it into my RX-8 with the acception of the sub/amp at this time. I have Kicker Resolution RS6 Components with a US Acoustic USX2080 amp giving them around 100W each and I've loved them in my blazer.

Do you trust your car audio place with your car? especially a car like the RX-8. I'm scared that some idiot is going to just go drive it for a joy ride which is why I'd like to stay the whole time they do it. Around how much do you think it is to get the speakers replaced (only the fronts) and is it worth it?

I wouldn't trust it to just your local audio place, when I upgraded, I looked around. Nobody in this area had done an RX-8. I checked with several places, I settled on two that had won awards in various car audio magazines. One told me some stuff that I didn't quite trust, and didn't ask certain other questions about how the car was wired that I expected. The other called some distributers asking if they knew of anybody who had worked on a car, checked with some people he knew at Mazda, went on the web to hunt for information, etc. all before saying for sure how he would do the car. Guess which one I went with. By the way, I am quite happy with what I got.

You didn't say where you were located. If in the SF Bay Area, you might check out Sound Innovations in Hayward.

just take it to a reputable place.. specializing in AUDIO.. not a electronics departmental store that installs car audio..

i go to a place called Speaker city in vancouver... they have worked on cars like porsches and ferraris.. and sl500s.. some these guys come from washington state just to do thier system..

ayways.. you get the idea..
