Replacing 2007 RX8 6CD changer radio in UK
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience replacing a stock head unit from a 2007 RX8?
I can't find one online anywhere! Does anyone have one? Or know how much a dealer will charge for one?
My radio looks like this one:
Thanks!

What's broken?
To replace the head unit all you have to do is remove the lid where the shifter gaiter is, then the ashtray.
There's an anti-theft bolt on the driver's side (LHD cars) and 2 other bolts where the ashtray is to hold the head unit in place.
The service manual on www.foxed.ca shows exactly where they are located. The head unit can be bought from mazmart, a vendor here.
Sorry for the crappy explanation but i'm on the phone and pretty tired

Hi bse50,
Thanks for helping out.
I managed to figure out how to take the old head unit out already, but I didn't switch the battery off and now I have no power to my radio whatsoever.
Air con works, but no radio power. So I'm seeking a replacement (unless anyone has any other smart suggestions).
Another option is to buy a metra double din pack and buy a nice double-din LCD head unit instead. I'm still undecided!
Ideally, I'd love to just fix the old one!

I have checked the audio system fuses, I haven't checked the room fuse. But... the interior lights work so I'm guessing it's not the problem. That would have been a lovely cheap fix though
