Talking Removal of Sun Visor Warning Sticker (Revisited thread)

I couldn't find the thread so I restarted it:

thanks to the work of many experimentors around here someone recommended brake cleaner...I heard a few kinds don't work but the one that was recomended 'pyroil' I couldn't find so I took the one in my garage called 'Super-X' and HOLY **** BATMAN the decal LITERALLY DISSOLVED and left the visor spic and span with no damage

I wanted to thank everyone and also highlight it so that many may enjoy a simple yet beautiful (and inexpensive) mod that makes a HUGE difference to the interior of the car.

(just to clarify: I had the silk screen looking one that would not remove as I triedmany household chemicals: goo gone, acetone, mineral spirits, gasoline, etc., none worked)

I ALMOST FORGOT, REMOVE SUN VISORS BEFORE USING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How to Remove the visors:

1. Unscrew the two phillips type screws...and pull down visor an inch or two and a cable will be visible in the hole
2.pull cable down carefully and a connector will come out (for the vanity mirror light)...then unplug the connector and take the visor AWAY from the car...
3.use brake cleaner in a well ventilated area with soft paper towels or cotton *****(I have lost more brain cells then you can...what am I talking about again?) and apply brake cleaner to cotton ***** and rub in a circular direction on top of the decal...keep changing the cotton ***** frequently and once the decal is gone...make sure to make a final wipe down to get off any extra residue

4. final step...and this is not neccessary but I recommend...then use a vinly/rubber protectant (many kinds out there...I used Meguiars gold class) and wipe down visor with the stuff to restore an minor oils that were on the visor as the brake cleaner will evaporate them all

Enjoy!

Just went out and did mine using some old carb/choke cleaner. Finished off with some isopropyl alcohol. Worked great. Thanks! I just hope it doesn't start to discolor after a year, or so!
