The FM transmitter is horrible. Do the aux port mod if you're comfortable with taking apart the center console and part of the dash. Cost me less than 1.50 to have a female 1/8" stereo jack mounted properly.

There's instructions on how to make such a cable here, and you can by one pre-made from here. They were designed for connecting other devices to a bose sounddock (iPod dock) but the principle should hold true.

I had the first gen Harmon Kardon Drive+Play and it is great. I paid less than $100 for the whole thing and it works much better than the typical FM mod systems. I just plug my Ipod in and leave it in the glove box. It is easy to select songs, playlists, search, etc and the Ipod gets charged. It plugs right into the any jack in the stereo and sounds great. Has its own screen and control wheel that are easy to mount. The newer ones are wireless which is nice, but they are much more expensive.

emphasis mine.

Audiolink... Works perfect... I swear to god..
Ive had it for about 1 year now with no problems. The hardest part is this friggin screw behind the radio that u have to sneak under the dashboard to get. But otherwise i installed it in all about 30 mins. Bout 8 screws total. Take apart then put back together...
