In my quest to find better seats that hold me during autocrossing, I found a donor some stock cloth seats for the rx8. The catch I would need to trade him my leather powered seats, and somehow make them work. after looking and spending a few hours at the wiring diagrams. I successfully made a made and tested a harness were the powered/heated seats can work with a base model rx8 without issue . No airbag lights, and full functionality.

 

You should post it at the DIY section too with instructions and pictures included. I have one on my Mazda 6i for both the driver and passenger seats. I don't think the rx8's has heated seats available on all models...not really sure, but that's what i know.

 

I'll take some pictures when I do the install Christmas morning o.O, assuming that the mazda 6 uses the same harness and wiring it should work out the same way. on my car, driverside has power and heat, while the passenger only has heat.

 

Bumping old topic but just bought leather powered seat for my rx8 and anyone have a simple way to get power seat working on my base model. Would like the heated seat too but don't need it
