PIE problems? Left Channel only?

PIE problems? Left Channel only?
So I've had my PIE--> 1/8" setup for about a week now, and all has been well, except I've been experiencing sporadic one-side only sound.
I've pulled the head unit apart several times, and reseated every connection, (I'm getting really good at being able to take out the radio in less than 10 minutes), but no matter how I jiggle it AT the pie adapter itself, I still have audio coming out only on the left side.
However, when I jiggle the connection at the ipod, my zune, or my other sony MP3 player, I can get sound to temporarily return, meaning it's position dependent.
So I'm thinking it's the actual from PIE box to 1/8" cable that's at fault.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
