Pie install

Ok, I have verified I do have the correct version for the head unit. I see the PIE on RXGarage.net is not available. Surely there are other places to get this unit. Anyone know? Also, anyone know how hard it is to install yourself? Not happy with the FM modulator as TAMAs suggested i wouldn't be. No problems the first couple of days but today alot of static.

I enjoy mine, and it wasn't hard at all to install, but would recommend a ground loop isolator (GLI). I had engine static with the PIE adapter on my TSX, so I got a GLI for $17 at Radio Shack (http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=270-054) and it took care of it.

edit: BTW, this is where I got my adapter: http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/MA...ER_p_4497.html

The problem is PIE (the manufacturer) has not made any new adapters as of yet. If you call PIE 800-526-8590 (www.pie.net) you can ask about availability.

I just checked the website, and you're right. It says it is unreleased or out of stock. All I can say is that is where I bought mine from according to my email receipt on 1/2/05. The other sites I bookmarked when shopping for this also say it is out of stock and new inventory is expected soon. It seems like I first tried to buy from one of these sites and they were out, so I went with a higher priced unit that was still in stock. I guess I got one of the last ones. These other sites for comparison are:

Yes, because they were made for remote CD changers. The one at AutoToys comes with RCA outputs, so you don't need the extra converter.

It appears all vendors are out of stock - one place that still lists it is here:

However, they don't say if it's in stock or not, so don't get your hopes up... but it's worth to ask, maybe you get lucky.
