Painting door panels
I have a SS with black leather and I'm thinking about painting the door panel the same silver of my car. Not the whole door panel, just the middle panel of the door, along with the middle panel on the suicide door.
I think this would look/flow nice, but I have no idea what kind of paint to use. What do you guys suggest?

there is actually something called a pigment paint which is more like a dye that penetrates the vinyl and there is also a simliar product for leather
a blue car was done in this fashion recently and it turned out great since there is no paint to 'peel' and 'crack' it is like you dyed it.
I'll find the link for you...or atleast find you a place to buy the stuff I just don't know if there is silver or not

ok it is made by the company G2 paint which makes the highest quality caliper paint on the market.
it comes in SILVER like you want (I want to see this done too since I have SS and have thought of your idea before :D)...just remove the panels before you do it :D
ok there is only one vendor on the forum who sells G2 products and currently he does not have the G2 interior pigment paint sku-ed up...but I'll help move things along if you contact the owner...ok here is the product:
https://mimousa.com/home.asp?dir=pro...cat=4&prod=357
and here is the vendor who sells G2 and sells G2 since mimousa.com is on of his wholesalers:
www.mazdaparts.com

Alright it is all sku-ed in on www.mazdaparts.com (previously rx8garage.net)
and there is Gold Member Pricing on these items so if you haven't been turned golden ask in mazdaparts vendor forum area or email the website with your username after you make one for free.
Here is the link for the product and all colors:
http://www.rx8garage.net/?page=shop/...ae361160bcb00&
And here is the link for the G2 primer paint if you are doing any hard plastic vinyl pieces that require prepping to penetrate:
http://www.rx8garage.net/?page=shop/...ae361160bcb00&
Keep us updated on how it goes!

Thanks true
I need to plot out what I want to do. I'm thinking of maybe doing this to the leather seats to dying it silver in order to get the custom black/silver look that some people got with their aftermarket leather.
So do you think I will need the primer or not and do you think the silver is as light as the silver we have? It doesn't look to light to me from the pictures of the cap on the can.
