Online stereo epuipment

Has anyone bought stereo equipment online?

I you did what site did you use?

I am looking to buy a JL audio 250 amp & Jl Audio 10W6 subwoofer, needless to say I am finding cheaper prices online but I am weary of spending hundreds of dollars over the net with a company I don't know.

If anyone has any suggestions of a good site please let me know

Thanks

Hey Rob the olny problem with buying JL stuff online is that JL olny honors warranty claims through there dealer network.

Crutchfield has good service but they are EXPENSIVE.
Just search the Web for the model(s) you are interested in and I'm sure you'll find some good deals.

That's true- they can be... but sometimes their sales are really good. I got my alpine subs and amp from them in January and saved a ton over every site I looked at, including Best Buy, Circuit City and Parts Express... especially with free shipping and no tax.

The thing you have to remember when buying electronics online or via mail-order, is that if the vendor you are buyng from is not an authorized dealer of the particular item you are buying, then the warranty is invalid. Some bargain basement online dealers are authorized by some manufacturers, but alot of them aren't.

Once again, you get what you pay for. With Crutchfield, they are authorized by every manufacturer they sell, and returns and whatnot are the best, even if you just change your mind.

I've also seen where one site might be the best for item A, while another site might be the best for item B. So, just make sure you shop around, keep things like shipping and handling, sales tax, returns, warranties, etc. in mind.

I always "do it E-Bay!" as I have since it started....most of the people I buy from are authorized to sell the products in-store but most manufacturer still will not honor online sales for the products even if the store is authorized for in-store sales...that being said...say for instance a few of the places i order from off the net will warranty my product the duration of the manufacturers warranty i just have to go through them instead of direct with the manufacturer. no biggy...for home I run a complete B&K AV507, Klipsch center, rears, and sub, and KEF Front Towers home theater setup, all bought from E-bay and online retailers..i have yet to have a problem with any product ever...if you buy from e-bay as with all things make SURE that you are not getting refurbs...unless you don't mind...i also bought my Focals from ebay and my Garmin iQue 3600...among tons of other stuff including my FJ40 a couple years ago...so I wouldn't worry about as long as you thoroughly research the company...ebay - check their ratings, online - call their in store number and talk with someone live, let them know your intentions and find out how they handle warranty claims...

Exclamation web audio

I haven't ordered stereo equipment on line in about 3 years, but when I did, i used www.ubid.com.

This site is an auction site. You can end up with things for very, i mean very cheap. You have to be carefull not to get refurbished equipment. They are labeled new or refurbished so you know before you bid, just be sure to look. All bids start at $9.00 and go up. It may take a week to find the equipment you want on the site, and you never know what manufacturers equipment will be up that day, but there are normally about six crap brands, and one or two decent brands.

I found an Orion Xtreme 900 watt amp for $330, also Fozgate 6x9 pair for $54, Orion 12" XTR Pro dual VC for $45.00.

I bought my amp and Dynamat through Millionbuy.com:
http://lib1.store.vip.sc5.yahoo.com/.../amplifier.htm
Fast/friendly service, no hitches to date.

Kicker 1/3 octave parametric EQ through Crutchfield:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-169u4Qt...=0&cc=01&avf=N
Crutchfield has excellent customer service--I purchase items here whenever practical.

Speakers from Infinite Car Audio:

Web site does not show all products. Company seems a bit rough around the edges, but product arrived quickly and at a good price.
