Oh no...why do I want this?

I think I'm losing it. I am starting to want those LED lights so the interior will glow blue. I know they are cheesy, ricey, over-the-top and generally in bad taste, and yet I still kind of want 'em. Does this make me a bad person?

Nope!, Im thinking of installing amber or red in mine.... maybe even purple like Orbist Same body kit, same car colour, may as well copy his interior light too. good thing he lives far away

Nah, honestly man, do whatever you like, its your car, do what makes you feel good, and if someone on the board rips you for it, its not their car anyways so thay cant change it! :-D

I don't think LED interior lights are a problem. Unless you go overboard and get neon underglow, engine bay, interior, etc. haha.

There's one kit I saw that outputs 3 million different colors for the underglow. Only $4.99! Oops, misplaced the decimal. I meant, $49.9! No wait. $499! Ah yes, that's it.

I put red bulbs just in the map lights to see how I would like it. Works ok but I really need some high brightness LEDs, the bulbs I bought are way too dim.

I replaced all the interior lights with leds! They give a nice white color. They aren't nearly as bright as stock.

I thought someone said you can't replace the lights in the doors with LEDs because they fade?

the LED's don't fade, that is why some people don't use them. they just blink off I believe.

I don't see a problem with neons as long as you install them properly, whereas you can just see the glow and not actually the tube.

I changed all of my interiors to the white led's that glow a little blue like RR did. Not so bright but i really like the affect. and I hate the "ricer" look

I could see doing a couple of additional Red LEDs sorta like what's in the doors allready. I'd like to install a couple in place of the Map lights and maybe a couple for back passengers...

I drove a BMW540i for awhile and I really dug the slight illumination of the cockpit... It was really handy. Not too bright, just functional.

As for the swapping out of all the lighting for blue??? I dunno. I can see doing red but not blue...

One thing you have to remember is that LED and normal bulbs show light differently. LED bulbs are directional, meaning most of the light is projected at a certain angle. Normal bulbs just light up like fire where all light is shined with no bias in a particular direction. This is why some people would say that their LED gives a whiter light but not as bright as the normal bulb. LED bulbs are limited in that sense.

Try this, look at a LED bulb and start moving it in different directions. You will notice how in most angles it isn't as bright as when you're looking at the tip directly. Do that with a normal bulb, and you will see that the light intensity is all the same.
