No more radar detector wire

Had some free time today. I removed the center dash (per the mp3 DIY thread) and ran the radar detector wire behind it. No more radar detector wire hanging on my center dash.

Very nice. How long did it take you?

But you've still got it plugged into the cigarette lighter! Arghhhh...

Autozone has that $8 Pep Boys mini-fuse jumper/extender for about $2. You could cut the cord, run one line to the fuse jumper and the other to ground. A much better solution -- and you'd be able to close your ashtray!

Took me about 2hrs.
I don't use the cigarette lighter for anything else. The ashtray still closes, I just opened it to show it's plugged in.
I was thinking about placing the detector up by the rear view mirror and wire it to the light as others have done, but I didn't like the placement.
