new xm sportscaster receiver

I just picked one of these new XM receivers and it fits perfectly in the ashtray space of my RX. The LED color even matches the dash lights!
It looks like it could be a mazda accessory.

It replaced the skyfi2 that I had wired into the drink holder area. Looks a lot cleaner
I will take some pics of the install soon

Sounds interesting. I have a XM commander I bought when it was brand new and it's starting to flake out on me, so am thinking of replacing it. This doesnt have a dedicated antenn a cable to make the FM transmitter a little more clear right? just does an over the air send? does it have a RCA output as well? I will hopefully have a line input on the stereo in the next few months and this unit looks pretty good as a replacement if I can do that.

here is the llink for the sportscaster on xm and from the manufacturer site

It uses the same antenna as my old skyfi2 unit and sounds just fine.
I miss the auto power on feature, but I suppose that is because the unit can be made into a portable unit with the battery/headphone kit.

It is hard to see in the photos, but at night, the LED color matches the instruments

I want to say that is fm modulation only, but here is a snippet from their site

I'm receiving static when I use the built-in FM Transmitter on my Sportscaster, what are my other options?

Choose an available FM frequency that is not being used by an FM broadcaster on your stereo. Then in the FM transmitter menu option of your Sportscaster, select the same available frequency. The line level audio output on your Sportscaster may be used to connect an optional hardwired FM transmitter or connected directly to your existing stereo when applicable. NOTE: If audio output is used or the battery is connected the FM transmitter is automatically turned off.
