Looking for feedback...

Found my MTX 8" sub in the store room and started looking at ways to install it in the RX. Looked at a number of trunk solutions, but wasn't satisfied with the limited projection of the 8" in the trunk.

While experimenting with "what if", I looked into the center of the rear deck. The space is just about right. I belive I cut open th rear deck (7 3/4") and create a fiberglass enclusore below the deck. I would like to vent the enclosure out the corners where the speaker pods are.

Has anyone seen or performed an install like this?

 

I think that the square metal piece that goes under the rear deck might give you some problems.. I'm not sure how structural that is either... I think most people in your position go with the 2 8's in the pass-through between the rear seats like This one
