New stereo setup.....again

After recently having my avic-N2 and rmagic dash pod stolen it seemed like the perfect time to upgrade and disguise my system even further

Speakers
Pioneer T-CS160R 60w RMS 250W max
these were the components from the last system and they sounded great.

Sub
Pioneer 10" TS-W2501D4 wired to 2ohms 800w rms 2500w max
Against speaker from last system

NEW STUFF

Sub amp
Pioneer PRS-D1000M 600w rms @ 2ohm

Component amps
Rockford 450.4 Advertised 60w RMS x 4 @ 4ohm (birth sheet tested at 101w RMS)
cant say there was a specific reason, it was on sale at Crutchfield

Processor
3.sixty.2

Impressions
HOLY CRAP, i have had a good about of high end head units in my day but the 3sixty processor takes the cake. I am listening to cds ive heard literally hundreds of times and they sound new because ive hearing the intricacies of layers better then ever.

I am definitely over my head with the 4channel amp. I havent had much experience with RF before and i didnt know they undershot there RMS so regularly. I have my gains turned all the way down and still cant make it past 14 on the stereo without physical pain However even at that level i am getting absolutely no distortion. The best part is that now every visible piece is bone stock when you look at the interior (except the countersunk radar detector)

I would definitely recommend the 3sixty to anyone wanting after market quality without all the hassle of running a second stand alone system like i did before. That being said im sure it just seemed easy because i already had 85% of the wiring already in place.

Decent review.

Do you have any pics of your stealthiness?

thus the key to the stealthyness, you can look at the mazda site and its EXACTLY the same!! MUAHAHA.

Actually the interior is still apart until i get more weather stripping for the assembly. Instead of weighing down the car with dynamat i use foam weather stripping on any plastic of metal surface that touches another so it doesnt rattle.

I also need to make new covers in the trunk since i have more electronics then the old cover would protect. Ill take pictures tonight.

I do recommend Dynamatting the trunk floor, over the muffler, and the front doors. It will tighten your bass response for the mids and enhance it.

I actually have my sub point blank behind the pass through so i can make a dummy back of trunk, stealthy. the REVs are pretty tight through most frequencies as it is now. The only project i have left is to lighten the sub box to get some weight off the back of the car. Luckily the RP-F1s keep the overall weight about even, at least thats what i lie and tell myself.

I have to say its weird having the stock center dash back on. I had the AVIC monitor there since week one of owning the car almost 2 years ago.

Dont make too much fun of the two different color speakers on the decklid. One blew so i replaced it and the Kevlar on the older one faded. You cant see it under the shroud so i dont really care

Hey snowrydr01

I just picked up a 3sixty.2 myself and plan on replacing the rear speakers with 6 x9's the front speakers with a set of 5 1/4 components and am also adding two 10" woofers.

I have the Bose system and am a little confused as where to tap for the inputs for use with the 3sixty.2 particularly for the front speakers.

From what I've gathered on the forum the general consensus for the rears seems to be to tap after the amp using the rear speaker leads if I recall correctly. But for the fronts I'm totally lost.

Do you have the Bose system? If so can you tell me where you tapped for your inputs for the 3sixty.2

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I was told to tap prior to the amp, however if you are planning on using your speaker leads as your REM i think you have to tap after becuase it needs 6volts to tell it to turn on.

I tapped my front speakers at the output of the headunit and my rears right at the end. I dont have the bose because i had never planned on using the stock unit.

Additionally, with the bose unit it is recommended that you use the wired volume **** from the 3sixty so that you have the same EQ through the volume range. Im not sure but i believe bose re curves your eq as the volume is higher or lower (from RF tech)

Rockford 450.4 (just like you) for the 6 x 9's (rear Mb Quart) and the 5 1/4's components (front Mb Quart)

Rockford p450.2 for 2 x 10 Polk DVC woofers (in zenclosure box its sweet)

Got some sweet deals for soundomain on all the stuff in including the 3sixty.2 they price matched another site.

Think I'll tap before the Bose amp for rear 6 x 9's still a little foggy on where to tap for my fronts but I'll do some more digging

I originally ordered from sound domain too until they didnt ship for a week. Eventually i said screw it ordered from crutchfield and had my stuff the next day with free shipping.

A big heads up, get some high powered speakers for that 450.4, my bithsheet had the amp running 101w RMS x 4 @ 4hms!! The specs only show it at 60w RMS.
