Just keep in mind there is a difference between the prosport performance gauges and the prosport premium gauges. Premium allows daisy chaining of power supply, has the 'ceremony' both on and off as opposed to just on, and has the peak warning features. I think is has more options re: dimming as well but I'm not that familiar with the performance series so I might be wrong.

Thanks, I thought the only one with opening/closing ceremony is the premium line. So other model come with that too....

Have anyone try Prosport oil temp/pressure adapter? It is half a price of RB one. Or the quality is not good.
And what kind of tape is used to seal the senders thread.
Do I need to drain the oil before install the adapter?

By the way, what is daisy chain????

Thanks

I heard that the Prosport has been leaking on people, so rather than dealing with that down the road, I forked out the extra $30 for the RB

Daisy Chain means hooking power directly to the first guage, then running power from that guage to the 2nd guage, and finally power from the 2nd to the 3rd. Less Wires.

It doesn't leak on me. Haven't had the adapter on long but I did have it on at the track for ~250 miles and over 2 quarts of burnt oil.

The prosport oil adapter is almost identical to the RB adapter. They both go between the oil filter and where it screws in. You are going to want to do an oil change when you do this. You just need to take a little vasoline or oil and rub it around the bottom of the adapter when you screw it into where the oil filter goes to provide a seal.

Then when you screw in the senders to the adapter make sure you have teflon tape around the threads:

http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/homem...ral/teflon.php

That will help prevent any leaks. Then when you change your oil filter make sure you do the normal process and apply some oil around the lip of the filter/adapter in order to help prevent leaks.

Honestly the design is so simple I don't see how it could leak unless people install it incorrectly.

Funny you should mention that. I had my oil changed at the dealership and had them place the RB adapter. They dropped the o ring out onto the trans and I though my engine bay had caught fire there was so much smoke from the oil leak. Luckily I caught it soon enough and redid the install.

And that's why I carry a fire extinguisher

seem like I have to postpone this project for a while.
I just had an oil change 300miles ago.
I thought with the adapter and no drilling, I don't have to empty the oil.

You could just let the car sit for a day to let the oil drain out of the filter, and then do the install. No oil change is necessary. But I need to change mine so its convinient

You should throw a new filter on though anyway...

So I have the Oil Temp gauge and something totally slipped my mind. Do I need to find something to plug up the hole on the RB adapter where the pressure adapter should go? lol probably an obvious yes... but still

For grounding the Sensor wire, do you splice a different black wire to ground with? Because don't you connect the white and black wires from the guage to the sensor? Pic below... In addition to the below sensor wire there is the red/orange/white/black wire but that all goes to the cig.

So I will say this. I had Fluid send me their kit which included Prosport everything, even adapters. Do NOT get their (Prosport) water temp adapter. That thing will keep you at bay for hours. There is only one hose to really install it on on the top one that goes into the radiator. Not only that but the size they make it to is not the correct adapter size and it's a small diameter than the ID of the hose. So you have to make up some sleeve to get it to work.

I basically spent over 4+ hours tinkering with this bastard with fluid leaking every where pinching off the lines as much as I could only to have the clamps strip and on top of that, a cut in the hose. So now I had to cut the hose past the damage and look for a sleeve to slip over their fiasco of an adapter to get this to work. I can't explain the frustration with this crap.

Oh and to read this thread makes me wonder now about the accuracy of the Oil pressure/temp and water temp gauges just what I need to keep my hopes up that this is all worth it....

Hmmm... I didn't have any issues with the Prosport water adapter from Fluid Motorsports. It's seemed like a perfect fit for me. It replaces a coupler that connects 2 hoses so there should be no cutting or fitment issues. Mine was the exact same diameter as the coupler it replaced. Maybe you were sent the wrong adapter or you're connecting it to the wrong hose.

Nope, I used it in the exact same place you mentioned as I saw to be convenient. No hose cutting required, the adapter is just too small for a snug fit. I wound up walking to town today to get a sleeve to place over the adapter in hopes for a snug fit to tighten up properly.

Cutting the hose was due to a slit that developed in the end likely from messing with it for 4+ hours, so now the hose is stretched some to get it connected. What should of been that long for the entire upgrade wound up being just for the water adapter, uncompleted.
