Angry Need Headliner ASAP

I was reaching in the back to grab my hat today, when I did I stuck my cigarette directly into the headliner. It went right above the sunroof controls. This is a eyesore from hell. My car is sunlight silver and the headliner is the whitish grey. Does anyone have any siggestions or a place to get a headliner.

Please help
Josh

Mazda dealer.

I would leave it. You're just going to ruin the next one with all the **** in your cigarette smoke.

Soulution: Don't smoke inside of your car. :P Haha, Just kidding. Umm The headliner is going to cost you big time. An upholstery shop should be able to do that for you quicker than going to the dealer.

http://www.Worldpartsexpress.com has the following listed.

2004 RX8 (don't know if year matters)

Headliner with no sunroof MSRP $734.85 Your Price $528.96

Headliner with sunroof MSRP $667.55 Your Price $480.54

That should give you an idea of how much it is going to cost from an online retailer

DUDE!!! I don't even fart in my car!
If I have to fart I will pull over the car, get out fart, walk around the car 3 times and then get back in! I can't even fathom someone smoking in the RX-8

I don't even have sex in my car. Course when you're built like an inside linebacker, it's tough in any car......

I think the worldpartsexpress link gives you a good idea there... that seems pretty expensive to replace, though.

I would stop by an upholestery shop and ask them what they can do. Maybe they can be creative and make a little something for you up there that will mask it and not look too bad. I bet they deal with that type of thing all the time.

Unfortunately, most posters in this thread are bent on getting you to stop smoking rather than providing assistance...

Yea just posted that to give an idea of a new one, I am sure one from a wrecked car from one of the forum vendors would be a little cheaper.

Unhappy Whooa!

Thanks guys. I came up with an idea to cover it up. I burnt it above the sunroof controls on the left. I am going to use the tabs like in the back that hold up the headliner. I will put one in the burn spot and go over about three inches and put another one. This should cover up the spot and appear factory. On the smoking note, I had almost quit, then I quit my job and started two businesses. For those that know smokers, it is harder to quit when stressed.

Thanks for all the suggestions,
Josh
