I just brought an rx8 2004. It didnt come with Navigation but I would like to install one. Can I install the pop up monitor? Has anybody done this? Or would i have to put the monitor somewhere else.

Yes, Expensive, Not worth it, better off buying a mobile GPS unit.

DO a search you'll find its been talked about.

 

There was a fellow that did an install of the OEM Nav. It was nuts. had to take apart the entire interior!

Your better off buying an after market GPS unit. Buying and installing an OEM one as an after thought will be an expensive (purchase and install) ordeal. You should have forked over the extra $2k when you first got the 8.

 

I couldnt, since i brought the last 2004 they had last week. It was amazing deal came to be $20500 but they charge tax on 26k minus rebates. For a Grand touring package. Also it was yellow, automatic so maybe that is why it didnt sell.

 

Despite what others have said in this forum , this is a easy project !!

Just Walk by the door that says "SERVICE DEPT" and go thru the door that says " SALES DEPT" You be enjoying the Nav in no time !!! lol
