NAV and dumb question time...
Hey all:
This may seem like a real dumb ?, but what happens if you take out the dvd out the player and try to start the nav? Will the welcome screen still come up but nothing will happen?
I'd test this myself, but the car is slowly being engulfed in a snow cacoon outside with the snow we are getting in the Northeast. Has anyone tried this?

Hey Kevin,
You made me curious so I just tried it out and you get a screen that says, "DVD ROM Navigation Please Insert Disc." When you pop the disc in everything works normally and it remembers all of your previous settings.

Another Nav question, I jsut have the demo tonight and no manual. How do you adjust the brightness on the screen? I searched the menu and no contrast or bright adjustments. Same with the dash lights, were is the brightness adjustment?
Thanks,

Sea Ray,
If you press and hold the Voice button for a couple of seconds a pop-up menu will appear. From there you can adjust the contrast, brightness, and choose day/night mode (i.e automatically change to a dark color scheme when the headlights are on).
As for the dash lights, you will find the dimmer on the left side just below the vent.

Some one had mentioned earlier about the date on the cd, what version is th most current? I don't imagine my garmin MapSource cd would work on this unit? Or how/what/when is an update available?
thanks
