I just bought an Rx-8, it's a 6 speed GT, i bought it last month and i love it , it's a great car. so i decided to start building my sound system because boss just dosent cut it for me. Well im going to post some pictures of the progress of the sound system im building, and i just want to get some feed back on it, i havent got much done yet, its still a work in progress.

also im look to purchase the in dash mini disc player, if anyone knows where a good place to order it from let me know.

so i built the two fiberglass enclousers and now im going to start building the new trunk pannels.. Im also thinking about molding the actual controler into that dash pannel so all you see is the buttons and the screen, but i think it looks good for now...

Very nice. Curious how exactly this works with a linked head unit, do you connect through a pie unit, then leave the stock on ex1 or something? How stable is the aftermarket unit mounted (bouncy)? What are the downsides to going this route with an afterlarket unit?

I have a 2 month old head unit and xm receiver just sitting in my garage from my trade in for the rx8 and would love to use it, but the things I've seen here with reproducing the entire front panel and relocating the head unit aren't what I would want to do, but this location interests me since I was thinking of putting an xm commander in that same spot already.

just to let you guys know that' s not a new head unit that's the kicker sx Rc amp remote control im going to be running my sound system off my factory head unit. the controler can control up to 16 amps and it displays temp and voltage.

(and the thing in the coin tray was that spray gun or rattle can painted?)
I brought that panel to my friends body shop to get painted.

(do you plan to paint or carpet your FG boxes?)
im actually going to be building new fg trunk panels to go over the enclousers( so all you will see is the subwoofer threw the pannel) and than im going to wrap them in vinyl

thanks for the replys
