Only comment on this sick setup is to get some lower profile 2 sided tape for your Mazdaspeed badge. Looks great closed but when open you can clearly see the tape propping the badge. Just being **** on an incredible DIY you have produced.

I will be shamelessly stealing your ideas but will try a variation. Look out for it early next year.

yeah the emblem was too wide . i had to space it to cover the buttons. but the emblem is camoflauge. the idea was to make onlookers from realizing its a lcd screen. just at a glance when walking by, people are unaware what it is. just some decorative eblem

It looks like this Pyle is not a touchscreen - so it's not too good for a carpc setup...
Can the touchscreen capability be added somehow?

Ya, thats the only drawback, no way to add touch, need remote. Priced right though, mid $200's on Ebay. And it's the only manufacturer that makes a 1/2 din monitor. Very low profile and great addition to stock radio/cd...

i'll buy one too!

by the way, anyone know how much that center dash panel costs in case i try it myself and mess up? i think i could make a decent looking bezel and mount, but if its hella expensive to replace that part, it isnt worth it for me...

i believe that center piece is like 150 or so. it isn't too bad. not like the $500+ it costs just for the radio faceplate.

I'm very impressed. So mid-200's for the dvd player, 90ish for the PIE adapter, and 3 for the sticker. This is what it takes for a SICK setup. Yeah, after I get back next week I'm getting started on this.

Oh just a question- why does the 1 flash when you use the DVD player?

there is a thread out there about a aux input by P.I.E.
the aux input is originally for a alpine cd changer. the 1 that is flashing refers to disk one. you can can up disk and down disk up to 6. since i dont have a changer i leave it at 1. i am curious to try hook up a alpine changer to see if the 1 stops flashing. what i really wanted to try was the alpine dvd changer, which is discontinued. i could only find used ones out there and people were asking too much.
but over all i spent about $290 for the pyle lcd, $190 for a 5 disk dvd changer, and about $90 fir the pie aux input w/rca input adapter. all of which i got from ebay. oh and i forgot the mazdaspeed emblem which i got locally. but i seen them on ebay for $8. oh and i forgot the fiberglass kit from bondo for $12 and a 3/16 aluminum sheet for $2

You can purchase a touchscreen overlay for those that want to use it for a carputer.

Wonderful setup!

Is there any chance to connect to this screen a nav system? I mean is there any aftermarket nav system with a video output?

Can you adjust the viewing angle to the left at all, or does it have to be perfectly forward? Sorry for all the questions, but your setup is exactly what I want to do.

the specs on that model say that it swivels to the left and right for driver or passenger viewing comfort.

That should be no problem. Only thing is the nav system needs to work by remote like the Kenwood one does since no touchscreen.
