My Audio Setup and pics

Well this will be my first post although I've been lurking for a while. I just got done with my Amp Rack and audio installation.

I think the amp rack turned out very well, Wired the car with 4guage Power and ground, The box I had fit 2 10's but I cut the top and put in another since the box airspace was perfect for 3 P2's by spec.

Here's the setup
3 Fosgate P2's (2 fire back one fires up)
Fosgate Power 5001 Mono Class D sub amp
Fosgate 1f Cap (although need to go get more wire to hook it up.

The car pounds super hard that amp is RMS tested at 1073w at 1ohm... I'm running at 1.33 ohms so figure I'm pusing about 300w RMS to each speaker way beyond thier specs but I have the gain turned down to the point the speakers aren't bottoming out. I hope to upgrade to 2 T1's and another one of these amps in the near future.

I have 2 bulk packs of Dynomat Extreme but I'm gonna pay someone to install it as I don't want to rip out the interior of my car. LOL

What do you guys think?

Nice with the exception of the "hose of wire" on the left.

run it behind that peice of carpet on the left (there is PLENTY of space back there) and it will make it look 500 Xs cleaner.

Other than that good thinking with the 3rd woofer.. i had never thought about having anything like that...

are you or have you done anything else to the rest of the car?

oh yeah and as I learned.. forget the Cap and just get a nice Optima yellowtop 34 or 35 battery. (or a redtop is fine for anyone that wants to arguee that yellowtop is too over the top)

The trunk is far from usless since everything is mounted flush.

As for the hose on the left, that will be gone once I get the Cap installed and the remote cable ran to the front of the car.

I really haven't done anything else to the car, I'm looking into some performance upgrades, exhaust and intake at very least. I'm just doing so much reading on the forums here to figure out exactly what I want and what is the best.

As for the Yellow top Battery, Will the RX altenator handle that? That's my next upgrade is a rewound Altenator this amp is making my lights dim like crazy at loud levels.

get the battery before the alt... the alt will handle it just fine.. that will take care of all the lights dimming (alot better than the cap will) and keep the alt in mind for a future upgrade..

but i was more interested in the rest of the speakers in the car.. are you thinking of upgrading them?

Those are stock for now, not the bose... For now they sound really good though and the Bass doesn't drown them out at all. I noticed now that I installed this new amp I can crank it all the way up with no distortion. Also the Amp Remote has the DB gain all the way down, I need subs with more throw.

I'll probably upgrade the others when I do the dynomat since everything will be apart anyway. Don't know what I'm going with yet though.

As far as the battery, it will be the next thing I do to the Electrical system thanks for the tip.

Don't confuse "no distortion with "not being able to hear the distortion". Trust me, the distortion level did not change by adding subs. Unless of course you had the bass cranked up on the head unit & flattened it when you added your subs. Make sure you listen to it without the subs to insure the "no distortion" claim.

I assume that you are talking about replacing the battery & not adding one. If you add one, it will place additional load on your alterntator.

Actually your subs will probably handle the amp pretty well as long as you aren't killing them constantly. If they do wear out, it will be a good excuse to move up to the RFP3 or JLW6.

Nice setup. We will be waiting for the next update.

Well I finally blew one of the 10's in the box... Sooooo Now I have a delima, I am thinking of buying that RX8 Box on ebay and throwing 2 12's in it but the air space is so small I cannot find subs that can handle the power of the amp and fit in the airspace... The other option would be to get 2 10" W6's or 7's but still the airspace is an issue.

Any suggestions would be great...

Actually the "eBay box" from ZEnclosures should be pretty close for the 10W6's. JL recommends .625 cf and the box is about .75. I have also recently heard some Eclipse SW8000 & SW9102 that sounded great and can definitely handle the power. I'm not sure of the air space requirements for them though. Perhaps forbidden knows off of the top of his head.

My lights don't dim in the least and I've 'only' got a 1F cap inline with the sub amp. This vs. my truck that has no cap and the lights dim like crazy whenever the stereo is crankin'.

nice install, bummer about blowing one of the subs. Have you decided what kind of speakers you want for the inside?
