MP3 question
I have a question for Shinka or any owner has both in dash CD changer + Sirius radio.
From what I see so far, none of the MP3 player add-on will work without removing Sirius radio. So that won't work for me.
I don't want after market HU. I prefer to keep everything looking stock for now.
So that only leaves one choice: CD/MP3 HU from Mazda... But I don't want to give up in-dash CD changer....
Are we Shinka owners are SOL on this?

MP3 mod
KoHC - Recently completed install of the Harmon Kardon Drive + Play on my 06 Shinka. When I first installed it, I used the direct connect FM modulator that most dealers now ship with the unit (I got mine NIB from ebay). I've been waiting for the Sylfex AUXMOD to go back into production.

Now I use the HK direct into the Bose system. All is needed is to push the Tape/MD button to activate. Bonus is I have an external input on the HK system to hook up an XM Commander in the ashtray. I still have the Sirius, which came free for a year, but miss my XM. So for a while, I'll have both. May decide to lose the Sirius when the scrip expires.
Other recommendation: buy the Ground Loop Isolator made by PAC from Crutchfield. I may also buy the Universal Steering Wheel Remote to control the XM Commander. The only steering wheel functions I lose with XM is the channel switching. I still have volume and mute, which is what I use most of the time anyway, with my Hands Free hookup via my Tom Tom 700 Bluetooth.
Hope these tips help you out. The HK unit is iPod only, but worthwhile. If you've got a diff MP3 player, then just get the Sylfex. Works great with the Bose system and you get to keep the Sat Radio too.
