Midrange speakers -> tweeters
dgrx8,
Kudos for searching first and digging this from the archives before asking. You will probably want to use the ones that came w/ the tweets, but would be easy enough to try both and see which one you like best. Let us know.

I am curious about the hiss. I have read a couple threads regarding tweeter replacements and this is the first time its come up.
It seems like keeping the Bose filter on results in a quiet hiss when the radio is off?
If you use the filter that came with the tweeter (i.e. the Boss tweeters that have been mentioned), does it still make the hiss?

Replacing them and leaving them behind the sailpod will give you a cleaner install, but the factory imaging sucks. An angle mount should give you better sound, but will not look as good. JMO

what i'm concerned about is the sound... not so much the look of the install.
i'd really like to know if they 2 tweeters working together will overlap nicely. or if i should just completely replace them...
i'm leaning towards adding them in & keeping the stock bose 2" as well. i just wanna make sure i use the right crossover so i don't get a lot of overlap or any more mids than we already have stock...
suggestions?
Once again, this could be a great place to try it both ways, however, just adding them could overheat and fry the Bose amp. I'm not sure how sensetive it is to resistance. You may want to wait (or search) for a post from someone that has done this and find out their results. Just keep in mind different speaker impedances.
guys i am also interested on replacing the front mid-tweeters with Boss TW15.
Anyone of you have done it?
Have you just cut and solder the cables or do we need to instal/remove anything else?
How did you mount them?
Any "hiss"?

I don't have bose - but i upgraded my front speakers with Alpine Type R components (5x7 woofer with crossover and tweeter)
I love them! and i really like the face that i could adjust the amount of gain sent to the tweeter only - I found that -3db was about right.. anything higher was too "bright" and made your head hurt a little.. LOL
