Miata antenna question

I know there are Miata people on this Forum who can help me. I bent over the antenna wand on my 94 Miata and now it won't telescope all the way down. It looks like I can replace the wand without changing out whole assembly. Does anybody know what's involved in changing it out? I don't bend as well as I used to (before broken back) so until I get a mirror I won't be able to see what the assembly in the trunk looks like.

There might be, but really the best place to go to find out is the incredible Miata site at www.miata.net , and their forums at http://forum.miata.net . Go to the Garage section, and there are hundreds of technical articles about everything Miata - I'm sure there are several power antenna articles. You can also search the Audio and Electronics forum section for antenna-related posts. Good luck!

I had to take mine to Showcase Mazda here in Phx, AZ. I'd bent mine as well...then when I was messing with it I broke it at the base - the part where it comes out of the body of the car. Damned if the whole thing didn't have to be replaced; I pulled out that rubber retractor thingy when I broke it all the way down. Either that or it was going to flap all over the place while I was driving. Hope you can find a self-fix...mine cost about $200 for the entire replacement.

Me too. The wand is $20 + shipping from Rosenthal. Seems worth a try.
