Mazda Ipod adapter connector

Long story short - my ipod and connector fell out of the glove box, I didn't realize it and shut the door on them. Does anyone know if Mazda sells just the connector cable, or if there is an aftermarket alternative cable? I didn't install it myself, so I don't know how it connects in in the back.

Thanks in advance!

Found out that Mazda charges the same for the cable as they do the entire kit. Does anyone know how exactly the mazda cable connects in the back? Is there an aftermarket cable you can buy that will connect to the mazda adapter?

I can tell you that the iPod connector is only sold by apple on a wire. They do not provide just the end. That said I don't think anyone would want to work on that many (30) soldier connections by hand.

Can you get just the wire from apple? I'm guessing that would be a lot cheaper than the 150 bucks or so Mazda wants for it.

That would be some pretty major soldering in a pretty tiny space...

Any idea if the way the connector hooks in to the back of the stereo is some sort of universal connection? Or is it mazda specific?

Thanks for the info!

I know that the connection used for the Axxess box is a simple SVideo connection. I can't find a single picture of that connection online from the office though. Hopefully you will have better luck.
